De l’Est à l’Ouest

L’un connaît le Soleil Levant
L’autre connaît le Soleil Couchant,
Deux points diamétralement opposés
Jamais ne pourront se rencontrer.

Dans cet abîme qui les sépare
Existe même une chose bien rare,
Sans un espoir de se trouver
Ils continuent à se chercher.

Ils se connaissent depuis toujours,
Donne le soleil au petit jour;

Sunrise, Sunset

One knows the Sunrise,
The other, the Sunset,
Diametrically opposed,
They never have met.

In this chasm between them,
In unusual harmony,
Each longs to touch the other,
But each knows it cannot be.

Eternally tied together,
One rises to light the dawn,
And when the day is over,
The other one lies down.

They speak in colorful words
The artist cannot portray,
When one of them makes a move
The other’s pulled along the way.

Are we like this, you and I?
In the Sunrise you come in view,
Then at twilight when I fade out,
I think of tomorrow…and you.

These exquisite poems run the gamut from the delightfully whimsical "Leapfrog" through
the poignant "When You're Away…" to the intense and compelling voice of "The Patriarch."
Many of the beautifully written pieces are well suited to both young and mature readers.
