Fruits of the Famine

A Gentle, Beautiful read

I loved reading this gentle story. The characters are lovely; the story is
lively, well told, and held my interest. It is so enjoyable to read a good
book, I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. Several of my friends
have enjoyed this book also. I look forward to reading more from this
author.

Heartwarming and Soul Lifting Love Story

Although I am no literary expert, I have to say that Fruits of the Famine
is one of the most beautiful, heartwarming and soul lifting books I have
read in years. L. Katherine Dailey's ability to intertwine the beauty of
true love with a very intriguing and captivating plot is outstanding. I
began reading her book and after reading a few chapters I couldn't put
it down. I am looking forward to reading her future books soon.

Beautiful Coming-of-Age Story

From the very first paragraph, Fruits of the Famine reached out and
grabbed my heart, pulling me into the story to travel the distance with
the characters so skillfully created by Ms. Dailey. Transcending time
and lifestyles, the story is as complex as today and as innocent, by
comparison, as the nineteenth century, in which it is set. The human
condition is honestly portrayed by realistic characters who spring to life
—laughing, crying, and growing right in front of my eyes. Often I was
stunned by the turn of events, only to realize that the clues had been
there all along. And while I am not usually a reader of historic fiction,
I will, without a doubt, read any and all future novels by this writer.

Purchase Book(s)
Fruits of the Famine

I read at work—
the first evening I covered
the first 83 pages. The third
night I totally fell in love
(big time) with Benjamin Grayson...I still want to meet
the guy ;-). I read not with my eyes but my heart...Amanda's heart. The only thing that
made me sad was that I
discovered the book, like all
the others, had a last page—I didn't want it to end. I want
to go back, forget all that I
read, and start over again...
What a beautiful, heart-
tugging story!!!
My heart is still dizzy.
